First gastric pacemaker operations in the UK
23 September The Healthier Weight Centre at the Princess Grace Hospital,
London, performed a new obesity surgery procedure for the first time in the
UK this month. The procedure, implantable gastric stimulation (IGS), commonly
known as the gastric pacemaker, involves keyhole surgery to implant a pulse
generator under the skin of the abdominal wall.
